The first thing you’ll want to do if you find yourself experiencing an excruciating toothache or dental trauma is call MB Dental Pros at (517) 676-4545 right away and explain the situation.

This does two things: it allows our team to give you advice and determine if what you’re experiencing requires
immediate dental care, and it allows our team to make some room in our schedule and prepare a treatment room, so
we are ready to help you right when you arrive.

Sometimes it can be hard to tell if something can be treated at home, treated at a later date, or must be treated within the next couple of hours.

Generally speaking, the following situations are usually considered dental emergencies that require treatment as soon as possible:

• Excessive swelling or bleeding from gums and/or teeth
• Unrelenting tooth or mouth pain
• Broken or cracked teeth
• A knocked-out tooth
• Painful infection
• Gum Abscess

In certain cases where a tooth has been chipped slightly or you have mild tooth pain that can be curbed by using a
saltwater rinse or over-the-counter pain medication, you may be able to wait until the following day or later in the
week to make an appointment with us. Giving our office a call and explaining the situation is always the best way to
figure out the next best step to take.

Emergency dentistry is sometimes fully covered by insurance, and sometimes it is only partially covered.

The most important thing to keep in mind during a true dental emergency is that time is of the essence, and we never want our patients to put off the care they need simply because they’re afraid of the cost. If you have a knocked-out
tooth for example, getting it reattached right away is the ideal outcome, otherwise you could end up needing a dental restoration that costs even more time and money. Our team will be happy to work with you to ensure that your emergency care is excellent, efficient, and affordable.
